Employment Status

The following instructions apply to the Employment Status section (Page 1 and Page 2) of the Demographics Information. For these pages, the type of field is identified, as well as the description for each field.

Employment Status (Page 1)

  1. Employment Status: Drop-down; Select from the following options:
    • Employed,
    • Employed but with notice of termination or military separation
    • Not in the Labor Force
    • Not employed
  2. Number of weeks not employed, if any (at time of registration) during the prior 26 weeks. Drop-down; Select from the following options:
    • N/A
    • Less Than 1 Week
    • 1 Week–26 Weeks
    • More Than 26 Weeks
  3. Interstate Worker: Drop-down; Select from the following options:
    • Live in State and looking for work in State
    • Live in another State but looking for work in State
    • Live in State and looking for work in State and other states
    • Live in another State and looking for work in another State
    • Prefer not to answer
  4. Incumbent Worker: Were you still employed when you applied for additional training? Drop-down; Select Yes or No.
  5. Underemployed Worker: Are you employed at less than full-time, or at jobs inadequate with respect to your training or economic needs? Drop-down; Select Yes or No.
  6. Long-Term Unemployed: Have you been unemployed for 27 weeks or more consecutive weeks? Drop-down; Select Yes or No.
  7. Have you been unemployed for 27 non-consecutive weeks during the past year? Drop-down; Select Yes or No.
  8. Have you been looking for work during the last four weeks? Drop-down; Select Yes or No.
  9. Does the job seeker meet other conditions for long-term unemployed? Drop-down; Select Yes or No.

Employment Status (Page 2)

  1. State Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claims Program: Drop-down; Select from one of the following options:
    • State Claimant
    • Federal (UCFE) Claimant
    • Military (UCX) Claimant
    • Extended Benefits Claimant
    • TRA Claimant
    • Exhausted UI Benefits
