Educational Grants

The purpose of the Educational Grants page is to document the difference between the participant's total cost of training program attendance and grant assistance available to him/her.

The Education Grants page can be used in two ways:

  • Users can first enter the amount of grant funding available without an Individual Training Account (ITA) to determine if WIOA funds are needed to meet the total cost of attendance.
  • Users can get the ITA amount and the amount of grant funding to document that the total of all assistance available did not exceed the total cost of attendance.

Initially, the Total Grant and Aid Available section and the Balance of Attendance Costs section are display-only and all amounts are zero. After users enter and save the grant amounts and attendance costs, AJL calculates and displays the total assistance available and balance of costs. Users can return to the page after saving the initial information to view the calculated costs.

To modify the grant amounts of costs of attendance, enter the modified amounts and save. AJL re-calculates and displays the revised amounts.
