Veteran Service Status and Details

The Veteran Status and Veteran Details pages of the demographics flow record information about the job seeker's veteran status. Answers to these questions determine the job seeker's veteran status, such as Special Disabled Veteran or Post 9/11 Campaign Veteran. The following instructions apply to the Veteran Status and Veteran Details pages. Below are screenshots of the pages, as well as tables listing each field and a description of the content required. Veteran Service Status

1. If the job seeker answered Yes to having served in the armed forces of the United States, the Veteran Service Status page displays. Complete the following questions. All fields marked with (required) indicate a field that must be answered. Additional questions may display or be required based on the information you provide.

   What is your branch of service?	(Drop-Down) Select from the following options: U.S. Air Force U.S. Army U.S. Coast Guard U.S. Marine U.S. Navy
   What is your active duty service start date?	(Text/Calendar) Enter or select the date the job seeker entered the armed forces.
   What is your active duty service end date?	(Text/Calendar) Enter or select the date of active duty service ended, or is projected to end, or projected retirement date. Projected end date should be within 12 months of today's date. Projected retirement date should be within 24 months of today's date.
   Did you serve in the Republic of Vietnam during this period?	(Drop-Down) Select Yes or No. This question displays if the active duty service dates fall on or after February 2, 1961 and between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975.
   What was your character of discharge	(Drop-Down) Select Honorable, Dishonorable, or Other. This question displays if the active duty end date is in the past.

2. Select Next.
   1. If the job seeker's service end date is in the future, or if their character of discharge is Honorable or Other, the Veteran Service Details page displays.
   2. If the job seeker's character of discharge is Dishonorable, the Veteran Spouse Information page displays.

1. If the job seeker's service end date is in the future, or if their character of discharge is Honorable or Other, the Veteran Service Details page displays. The questions that display depend on service duty dates and conditionally based on answers. Complete the required information, as described in the sections below.
2. When you are finished, select Next. The Veteran Spouse Information page displays.

Are you or have you been a participant in the Transition Assistance Program (TAP)?	(Drop-Down) Select from the following options: Yes, currently participating Yes, previously participated No You cannot select "Yes, currently participating" if your service end date is in the past.
Are you wounded, ill, or injured and being treated in a military treatment facility or warrior transition unit?	(Drop-down) Select Yes or No.
Did you serve on active duty during a war, campaign, or expedition for which a campaign or expeditionary medal has been identified and listed by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)? A current listing of the campaigns can be found at OPM's website. (Opens in a new window.)	(Drop-down) Select Yes or No.
Are you homeless?	(Drop-down) Select Yes or No.
Are you enrolled in the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP)?	(Drop-down) Select Yes or No.
HVRP Grant Number	(Text) Enter the HVRP Grant Number. (Only displays if the previous question is answered Yes.)
HVRP Grantee Service Provider	(Text) Type the name of the service provider. (Only displays if the HVRP question is answered Yes.)
HVRP Grant Number 2	(Text) Type the second HVRP Grant Number. (Only displays if the previous question is answered Yes.)
Why are you receiving services from a second HVRP grantee? (Only displays if the previous question is answered.)
